Duplicate Computer record after new scripted install
I have a scripted install set up to push a clean install to a machine. The scripted install will rename the machine to a specific name based on the service tag and join the domain. The name for the machine doesn't change from what it was prior to the re-install of windows, yet KACE creates a new record. I would like to keep all of the history for the machines under the same record, but it doesn't do this. Is there any way to have the matching machine name using the existing record? The only thing I am doing is reinstalling a clean OS on the same machine.

The system uses the KUID.
1. if you want to keep the history you are better off changing the mapping under Assets > Asset Types for the computer table from System Name to BIOS Number. Create another line in the table for Bios serial number. Save and then open computer up again and change the "name" to Bios serial number in the second drop down.
After you do that save it. Then when you reimage a machine, make sure you delete the old computer name under inventory first before you add the agent to it. it will then map to the asset that has the matching bios.
