Is Faronics Deep Freeze compatible with the K1000?
How will Faronics Deep Freeze application work with the KACE Systems Management Appliances? Will there be any complications on the desktop level?

They say it's compatible, but you have to define the word "compatible". What we see is that clients will sometimes show connected but won't sync for weeks (our checkin interval is 2 days), probably due to the fact that they are frozen in a state that won't check in for another day or so. If possible you need to have a short interval for checking in, and coordinate any scripting or managed installs with a thaw period.
works fine for us. I didn't even thaw the machines first for the agent. We have a top level GPO to install the agent so if they reboot, it gets reinstalled immedetily.

So the KACE Agent gets reinstalled on every reboot? How many nodes are in your environment? That would absolutely kill us. - nheyne 10 years ago

Maybe 30... in the call center that are frozen using deepfreeze. I'll get the actual agent installed when thawed when I actually have time, hehe - glennvelsol 10 years ago

Oh ok well that isn't a big deal then. I'm so used to 30,000 that my heart stops when people talk about deploying things through GPO on every boot. - nheyne 10 years ago
it can cause problems with bots being frozen so they loop and also other tasks over whelming the kbox due to the fact of them being frozen for long periods of time. I am also having locking wehn trying to manage the org with deeepfreeze installed and the other orgs work fine. We also use the core console and AV from them so that may be the problem.
