Find Service Name

Hello,
I can't believe I'm not able to find this. I need to find a service name. Not the description shown in Control Panel, but the actual service name. Can anyone help?

Open <Control Panel> -> <Administrative Tools> -> <Services>. After opening up <Services>, scroll down to find the service you're looking for, highlight, right-click and select "Properties". Hope that helps!

Hi pmarshbu,
That did not seem to work. The Properties showed me the Display Name and the Path to Executable. However, neither seemed to work. I"m trying to use Wise Script to check the status of a Service, but it requires the true name of the Service.

zartan,

above the Display Name there really should be the service name. It's 'greyed out' but it does say Service Name: and it can be different from the Display name

Hi pjgeutens,
Excellent! That worked perfect.
Thanks!
