How can I schedule a file to be copied over to another computer using Kace1000?
I have 40 computers that need the new ampagent.msi file stored locally on them. The location is C:\Kace. Rather than coming in after hours, and logging into each server individually to copy the file, I would like to use a KACE script to copy the file for me at night.
I currently ran a script last night and it did not work. Do you have any recommendations for me? I'm new to the scripting.
Type: Online Shell Script
Status: Production
Windows Run As: admin, password: filled out.
Notify: not on
Schedule: everyday at 23:00
Dependency: added/uploaded amp agent from Kace Machine (ampagent-6.3.306-x86_helpdesk.lcu-internal.com.msi)
Script Text: copy /y ampagent-6.3.306-x86_helpdesk.lcu-internal.com.msi c:\kace
Script File Name: workpls.bat
Timeout (minutes): 10

You shouldn't be using a script to distribute the files.
Setup a File Synchronization under Distributions to push it out.
Setup a File Synchronization under Distributions to push it out.
To do this you will also need to create a "Custom Software Inventory". that contains the file.
You should then be able to have it Sync'd to all of you machines.

I have only created a custom software inventory to show which printers are installed on each computer. Do you have any suggestions or links you can share to with me? - pamkelly 9 years ago

Create a new one named after the file you want to copy.
The add the file under "associated files"
Under rules you might find it helpful to add
-FileExists(YourFileLocation)
Then under distributions - file syncs you should be able to create a new item.
In the drop down list associate it with the custom software name you just created. - htomlinson 9 years ago
