Is 2.48 GB kind of large for the [DATE]_kbox_file.tgz file?

We have 220GB's of free space on our 500GB K1K if that matters. No problems with the server, but I thought someone told me once that this file should be investigated if it gets too large. Perhaps they were talking about the .gz files though.

Our .tgz file has not jumped in size. It's been about this size or slowly grown to here. I'm update to 5.4sp1 today and noticed it so I thought I would check in with Ninja team. :-)

EDIT: Our gz files are both under 150MB's. 150 and 135.

Thanks!

In the .tgz is all you uploaded to your kbox, so if you have many MI and so on, this is very few.

In the .gz is only the database. 150MB is not really small, but not too big.

The sizes always depend on your usage of the box.

Our .tgz is over 6 G so that isn't an issue but with updates sometimes the database if larger then 150 MB could cause an issue as it did with the 5.4 upgrade for a few people.

Comments:
  • there were not only few people who had the issue. The "issue" was a security check to solve an issue with the 5.3 which could bloat the database (I have seen database backups bigger than 2GB and after fixing it back on 40MB ;) ) - Nico_K 11 years ago
