Is there a way to create a K1000 Managed Install that does not push itself out automatically?

I would like to use the Managed Install so that I can push out installs manually through the iPhone app.  Managed installs are included in the app but only for applications that are Enabled.  But, if I enable the application, it will try to push itself out.

  • If I understand you correctly you want the following:
A MI to be installed only if you add a machine using K1000 Go?

    If yes:
Enable it and do a "fake" Label or a test machine, where it is installed.
So it won't will install anymore on any other system.
Then add the questioned machines via K1000 Go. - Nico_K 11 years ago
  • Genius! Not sure why I didn't think of that myself. They should probably add an "On Demand" option for software that not everyone needs but is an option.

Thanks!! - jlazerus 11 years ago

A Managed Install will only push itself to machines that are associated with the install (either directly or through labels) and only if it is not already installed.

If you're looking for more of an "on demand" install, you could create a script that uses the "Install Software Package" task instead. I haven't had an opportunity to use K1000 GO yet, so I'm not sure if you can execute scripts from it, though.
