K1000 Express - Warranty Reporting

Hi there,

I have just installed the K1000 Express appliance. The greatest thing about this system is the ability to report on Warranty status. However, when I use some of the pre-configured reports or make some of my own, they don't exactly make any sense.

If I try to show the device name as well as the service tag in the report, for each device name I also get a column with a group of 7 service tags instead of just the tag applicable for each device name.

It seems as though there is no join set to show the information that corresponds to each device.

Does anyone else have this problem? It seems the express appliance doesn't give me the ability to perform SQL reporting, only Wizard.

Thanks

Brandan

  • Our machines have multiple warranties which make it look like there are duplicates. Is it possible that is what you're seeing? - chucksteel 10 years ago
  • Nah, I have the same thing and I thought that was the case as well. Under each machine name (grouped by this), each line of "Warranty" has a different service tag associated with it.

I contacted my account rep who is going to get someone to help me out. It's just weird and wondered if anybody else had the same issue.

I'll report back if I get some answers.

  • Does the express version allow for enabling the reporting user so you can connect to the appliance with other tools like MySQL Workbench? - chucksteel 10 years ago
  • That was my exact thought as well. Waiting to hear back from Dell with an answer for that exact question. - bweeksSDRC 10 years ago
  • All, The K1000 express does not have a Reporting setting to enable users to access the database via third party tools such as MySql like the full K1000 appliance version does. - KACE_Mary 9 years ago
  • Also I am unable to replicate on my K1 Express appliance. Can you copy the sql code or what report you run? - KACE_Mary 9 years ago
