K1000 Machine Action Issues
Hi folks,
I recently applied the 6.3.113398 hotfix to my K1000 box, only to have it break my machine actions. I currently have a machine action pulling a TeamViewer ID via the custom inventory fields. Now, within the machine's inventory, the ID is populating normally, but the machine action is no longer properly pulling anything.
At the moment, I'm using KACE_CUSTOM_INVENTORY_TEAMVIEWERID without any luck. Is anyone else experiencing this issue or does anyone know how it can be fixed?
Thanks,
D

If you haven't already, submit a support ticket and refer to defect K1-17405. An engineer can fix it through a tether at the time of this posting.
Edited to add: A hotfix has been released to address machine action issues: https://support.software.dell.com/download-install-detail/6055486?prodjid=1-DCAQNA

With the Hotfix the functionalitiy is slightly changed unfortunately.
Special characters (% and ") cause the issue

Engineering is aware and working on a solutiion.
Last week we ran into the issue with two customers and implemented a workaround.
1. add the Teamviewer-path to the path variable

2. change the Machine action to the command only.
c:\program files (x86)\whatever does not work too because of the spaces.
c:\programme\whatever (in german localization, others are similar) works due to no spaces.

For #2, use "dir /x" in a command line to get the DOS name to avoid spaces. [e.g. PROGRA~2 for Program Files (x86)] - jknox 9 years ago

Kace will now open TeamViewer but will not enter in the Partner ID. It appears Kace is not pulling in the custom inventory. Did you anyone else run into this issue? - TCMinion 9 years ago
