K1000 Replication using Netgear ReadyNas 102

Hello!

Is it possible to install K1000 agent on Netgear ReadyNAS 102 and use it as K1000 share and replication?

If not, which device would you guys prefer?

Thanks!

A replication share has to run an operating system that is able to run a K1000 agent. ReadyNAS runs a custom Debian install called RAIDiator, so I would say you would not currently be able to install an agent on it since there isn't a Debian agent.

However, there is an Ubuntu agent and Ubuntu is a fork of Debian, so in theory, it might be possible if you were able to get the Ubuntu agent installed on it.  It would definitely not be supported by KACE.

Currently supported operating systems can be found here under "Managed System Requirements": http://www.kace.com/products/systems-management-appliance/tech-specs

Edited to add:  It appears that it might be possible on some NAS drives: http://www.itninja.com/question/synology-nas-and-replication-points

Hello,

Thanks for fast answering!

That ReadyNAS is on the way back where it was bought from :)

How about this one --> Buffalo LS-WV2.0TL/R1-EU LinkStation Pro Duo 2TB High Speed Network Storage

Is anyone using it? advantages/disadvantages regarding K1000 replication?

I would really appreciate if anyone could give me some advice which device is best to use since i'm really stuck with that issue.

Thanks in advance!
