K1000 Software assets from Custom Inventory
Hello, Good afternoon.
On the main screen of KACE my manager wants to see on the licence compliance graph a breakdown of which office keys has been used in the company.
As we have some standard and professional keys, and want to make sure we are always in compliance.
I have managed to import the keys in to KACE in to the custom inventory fields, and I am able to setup a machine smart label for the different types of keys.
Setting up a Machine smart label and the custom fields options... Works well.
I then get a break down of what is on what machine...
However this is where I get stuck I need to be able to then setup a software smart label, so I will be able to add it to a licence asset, so it will then show the breakdown on the main K1000 page.
I have been trying most of the day to get this done but I can’t seem to make a smart label on software looking at the customer inventory section via product key.
Does anyone have a solution to use which would help me get this done?

I would create to manual software titles (standard and professional) =, which you may have already from creating custom inventory entries, and then create a software asset for each one since the custom inventory should be doing a count as well. Then build a license key for each of the standard and professional.

Hello, I have followed this guide for getting the information in to K1000 http://www.itninja.com/question/how-to-track-windows-and-office-product-keys.
Then I have created a smart label to search for the KEY which we use for professional. As the create Machine smart label has option to check on Custom Inventory fields, and I have entered the key I am looking to check.
I have then created a software asset called Office Pro, and this is where I get stuck. Do I assign it to the machine label I created, or am I missing something?
Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

I must be missing something as I have the software showing on the main compliance graph on the main page. just says 0/10 for the software.
