KACE agent and image deployment questions
hello all-
i have an image with kace agent installed i deploy the image to 40 computers now i cant get the agent to work on the pcs. it weird i removed the agent from 2 pcs ran an inventory on one finally came up when i try to run an inventory on the other one the previous got remove from kace. should i not install kace agent when i setup a pc for imaging. just checking what are you guys doing for best practice with deployment.

We recommend you install the agent as a postinstall task, that way you are deploying the latest agent with your k1000 server (if you update the task).
The cloneprep=1 is recommended as well, this means that it won't actually create the kuid, and gather inventory until the next reboot of the workstation.

I do mine as a post install task.

On the ones you already deployed delete the two keys and restart this should get them to reregiter with the kbox. On the acad side I have the client already installed in my master. When I sysprep the image prior to capture I delete the two registry keys listed in the link he provided - SMal.tmcc 12 years ago
