K1000 agent decompressor does not retain file date attributes

Using agent 5.3.53117

I have traced this problem to the decompressor engine on this particular version of the agent. I used to be able to send files to my client computers and use the date attribute properties to verify the correct versions of the files. For instance, I have a zip file that contains 300 files in it. These files have 'date created' and 'date modified' stamps spanning 10 years back. Before this new version of the kbox agent, I used to send a managed distribution to copy these files to client computers via xcopy and robocopy. Both approaches produced the same result.

As of this new release of the agent, I am noticing that the agent decompresses the files and modifies the 'date modified' and 'date created' stamps. These stamps reflect the date and time of execution; thus, overriding the original time stamps.

I have verified this behavior by attempting managed installation and file synchronization features.

I spent 2 hours on the phone with support and they offered a few suggestions but they are not permanent solutions.

Anybody have any suggestions on how I can distribute files to client PCs and yet keep date attributes intact? I know it was possible on prior version of the kbox agent. I have been doing this for several years.

Thank you all!

Yes, 5.3.53177 agent modifies the date timestamps. This issue has been resolved in upcoming version.

For this version, you can try unzipping with an external unzip utility.
