KACE K1000 as an Amazon EC2 Instance
Does anybody have any experience with importing the K1000 virtual machine into the Amazon Cloud network as an EC2 instance?
I've talked with various people from Dell / Quest and while I know it's not officially supported I've been told that they think some customers were able to do this.
I've recently tried importing the vmdk file however I receive "ClientError: Unknown OS / Missing OS files" during the conversion from Amazon.
This would be a huge win if we were able to get things running inside Amazon as the Kace is one of the few remaining mission critical production systems still running out of our corporate office.

Yes this was my experience. The KACE OS just isn't currently supported under AWS. Only possible solution now is to wait for Amazon VMWare solution to go live. https://aws.amazon.com/vmware/ - mds1981 7 years ago

Yeah, you figure FreeBSD would be supported, but I suppose that may be tough. Good to know abut the VMWare solution. I wonder what that will cost in licensing to do that though. - Kace@Funk 7 years ago
