KACE uninstalling itself

Hello,

We have recently installed KACE V10 as a brand new appliance. However I have pushed out the client with the new host name from the current (old) server so they get the new agent and check into the new server. This works a treat.

The issue is that I cant figure out why the KACE agent is being uninstalled. I have checked scripts and provisioning and the task schedule but cant find anything which uninstalled the agent.

Does anyone have any ideas where this maybe happening?

Thanks

  • Have you checked to see if a Group Policy was previously created that may be uninstalling the Agent? - KevinG 5 years ago
  • it sounds like a GPO or another software is causing this... - Channeler 5 years ago
  • Group policy is not doing any installation of KACE and I have confirmed this with RSOP. - Morpheus83uk 5 years ago

  • Hello,

Thank you all for your answers. GPO was correct I as looking for software installations and was informed by a colleague there is a special way that Dell deploys KACE through GPO. Thus it is not in the software installations of the RSOP. Once I knew this I found the additional registry settings and located the offending installation causing the problem and it has now been removed.
