kbox2000.ipxe does not load
Hi everyone,
When i try to boot our older Optiplex 3020/3040/3050 via UEFI PXE into our KBE i get following picture:
When i boot them with Legacy BIOS everything is fine.
Our Optiplex 3060 and 7070 Ultra works fine with UEFI.
I updated the bios to the latest versions and checked the settings on every device but no success.
Any clues how to fix this?

Not all devices are iPXE UEFI compatible out of the box.
Some of them are fixed after a certain BIOS versions, and some of them may require a USB2Eth dongle, because their built-in network cards, are unable to process the UEFI iPXE boot files. (hardware compatibility issue).
Make sure UEFI Network Stack is enabled in the BIOS and disable Legacy Option ROMs.
You may rule this out pretty easy, grab one of those USB to Ethernet Dongle , w/ PXE compatibility that DELL sells, and see if it works.
You are not alone out there, see, some of them managed to workaround this limitation, some other gave up:

Those series 30XX Optoplex models are not that good for UEFI PXE boot.
You may want to try with a USB2Eth dongle, or boot to the KACE SDA with a USB KBE formatted in FAT32, this will load the KBE in UEFI mode, and it will let you deploy UEFI Images.

We have run into this. We enable UEFI but leave legacy roms enabled. We PXE boot them to legacy and load a UEFI image. After the image loads the boot process may or may not fail. If not we just leave it alone. If it does fail we disable legacy roms and it usually loads fine. This is on older 7010 and 3010 models. - kjfaucheux@lpssonline.com 4 years ago

Legacy Roms are disabled but the error still comes up. - CarstenBuscher 4 years ago
The problem was again the strict port restrictions of our network admins.
After the upper port area has been completely released, everything works.
