Monitoring Servers with Kace
I'm trying to figure out how I can utilize the "heartbeat" of the Kace1000 agent to monitor my servers.
i.e. the agent checks in every couple of minutes, if it doesn't check in for more than 5 minutes I want to know because chances are my server is down.
Anyone know how to accomplish this? Seems like pretty basic monitoring to me and Kace should readily have this feature I just can't find it.
Thanks!

KACE is not the proper tool for this. If you have a lot of machines and they all are checking in every 5 minutes it's going to flood your network. That said you can create a report that checks which machines have not checked in in the last 5 minutes and have it run at a minute interval. Make sure to check the box that will not send you empty report. I'd rethink this though and get a proper monitoring tool.
Solarwinds if you have the $$$
Free alternatives:
http://munin-monitoring.org/ (this is actually what KACE uses internally)
http://www.spiceworks.com/ (not a fan but it does work)
