Not able to deploy KACE agent via GPO to Windows xp machines.

I have setup a GPO to deploy KACE agent to all of our Windows 7 and Windows xp machines. On Win7 KACE agent gets installed no problem.

But on Windows XP KACE agent does not get installed. I see the follwoing application events on XP client machines.

- The install of application Dell KACE Agent from policy Dell KACE Client install failed. The error was: The installation source for this product is not availabe. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

- Failed to apply chanes to software installation settings. Software changes could not be applied. A previous log entry with details should exits. The error was: The instllation surce for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

- The Group Policy client-side extension Software Installation failed to execute. Please look for any errors reported earlier by that extension.

I checke the share exists and it is accessible from the Win7 and XP machines.

pls. help

  • Hi, I did check the link and granted Domain Computers and Domain Users Full Controll permissioins. I am still getting the same error.

    This is the error:

The install of application Dell KACE Agent from policy Dell KACE Client Install failed. The error was : The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

This is from Group Policy Results for the client computer:

Software Installation failed due to the error listed below.

The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

Additional information may have been logged. Review the Policy Events tab in the console or the application event log for events between 6/5/2014 1:50:23 PM and 6/5/2014 1:50:25 PM. - iloveexchange 10 years ago
