Opening actions from Chrome (DameWare, RDP, VNC)
These 3 actions are setup and function from IE, but as usual, these protocols don't work with Chrome or FireFox. Any ideas on how to get them to work in Chrome? Specifically DameWare, since that's our main software used for remoting into client machines. It sucks having to keep IE open for this, since any real techs hate using IE as their main browser =)
Thanks :)

I have added a custom URL protocol on my machine, so when I type "dwrcc://x.x.x.x" in any browser, it will launch DameWare and fill in the IP Address. I've gotten this to work with Chrome through our helpdesk software that we use. However, if I do a custom action for 5.4, and use "dwrcc://KACE_HOST_IP", I get an error saying invalid URL when I try to do the action.
Is there a way to do this? Add custom URL protocols and set them as custom actions? The URL protocol is valid, and works if I just type it in the browser, but KACE obviously has an issue with it.
(DameWare works fine from IE and automatically goes in - which is great - but I'm just testing different workarounds to see if I can launch it from Chrome without the need for a sluggish IE tab addon)
Are you on 5.4?

Maybe I misread somewhere but I thought that was working now in 5.4. I haven't upgraded yet though. Looks like you can vote on it.

Seems that is for Firefox. Any ideas for Chrome? It's not built into 5.4, as it still tells me I need to launch it in IE. - sfigg 11 years ago

You can vote, and possibly get it for both. It mentions Chrome as well. - dugullett 11 years ago
Machine actions are IE only at this time. You can use IETab to launch machine actions out of Chrome and Firefox. Of course, that only works in Windows though.
