Problem in setting desktop wallpaper

Getting following error while setting desktop wallpaper remotely through KBox replica server:

Running as: SYSTEM
Checking if registry 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop' value 'Wallpaper' is equal to 'C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\\kbots_cache\packages\kbots\190\Wallpaper.bmp' did not succeed: (0)

What is the problem causing this error?

You have an extra "\" after KACE. That should fix one problem.

Comments:
  • The KACE does that by default; I believe it's a problem with the value they use for the KACE_DEPENDENCY_DIR where one of their variables has a trailing \ and the next to designate the target folder has a starting \. I've definitely seen it before. It doesn't seem to hurt anything. - philologist 12 years ago
  • I'm not sure how that would work when it is not a valid directory? I would think it would hurt since you cannot navigate to that path. - dugullett 12 years ago
  • I did too, but as I said, it happens in most scripts in the KACE. Certainly try to change it and see if it fixes the problem. - philologist 12 years ago

Do you want to set desktop wallpaper for logged on user? If yes why is the command running in SYSTEM context?
