PXE boot without User Intervention
I have multiple computers that I need to reimage remotely. Is there a way for the computer to automatically PXE boot into the KBE without having a user arrow down to the KBE?

1- Make sure those devices have the NIC as the first boot option. Use DELL's Command Configure tool to do this massively:

2- Configure an automated deployment, and select the devices you want to image, if they are not listed, you could add them using the MAC Address into the list.
Check the Automating Deployments chapter in the Administrator's Guide here:
https://support.quest.com/technical-documents/kace-systems-deployment-appliance/6.0%20common%20documents/administrator-guide/42#TOPIC-942487
3- Select the Image\Scripted install to be deployed.
4- Turn on the Computers, this can be done using Wake On Lan. (Wake on Lan for the SDA Appliance only works for machines in the same subnet), if they have the KACE Agent, use the SMA for the Wake on Lan.
Machine will wake up, boot from NIC, and the SDA will see their MAC address is booked for a Deployment, the Deployment will start automatically.

They are not configured for the NIC as the first boot option. How do we do that without touching 200+ computers? - abratton 5 years ago

If they are DELL devices, DELL has a tool named DELL Command and Configure for this purpose.
See:

This involves making changes remotely, massively and unattended... at BIOS level... not many tools around for that.

and many other premium vendors have similar tools. (official like HP or Dell or inofficial like Lenovo)
I use these tools (or the resulting stuff) to setup the BIOS settings in a Pre-Install-Script (incl BIOS passwords) - Nico_K 5 years ago
