Setup Service Desk Email to use Exchange SMTP server
I ve been asked to complete a partially configured Service Desk. CAn someone explain to me How to set up the K1000 Service Desk to accept mail from our companies Exchange server and where/how do I give the Kace service desk aa email adddress. Our Service Desk was never completed but it looks to have an email address that does not work. I'm confused as to what the KACE email address is and how it was created and how to get our Exchange account to forward mail to it. I'll appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks,
David

I removed everything and started over. This time i used a mailbox and a contact list, plus I chose to forward mail through the connector rather than DNS
see if this helps.

That works if you have an internal exchange server. If it's hosted externally, you may have to apply a patch from support or use a relay server currently.
The k1000 5.4 release should introduce some options to make using external solutions easier. - jknox 12 years ago
Have you tried creating a mailbox and enabling POP3? You can set the K1000 up so it pulls emails from a POP3 mailbox on your Exchange server.
Take a look at this article http://www.kace.com/~/media/Files/Support/Knowledge-Base/K1000_ServiceDesk.ashx
