Shadow Copy
If I need to restore an older version of a file from the shadow copy on the Windows 2008 R2 file server, I need to select the the parent directory of the file and view the previous versions that then can be copied etc. However if I select the file and the select view previous version then the shadow copy will state that there are no previous version to display

Why do you need to select the file's previous versions instead of the folder? Just to clarify, you are saying that Shadow Copy lets you open a previous version of the folder? Just pull the file from that folder if I'm understanding correctly. - srober99 10 years ago
