Smaller RSAs

Is there a way to make the initial size of an RSA smaller?

I'm currently trying to build one at a site that has 260 gigs free and the RSA wants to take up 250 of that. When all my other RSAs are only up to about 60 gigs of space used, it seems stupid to be forced to waste that much space on my VM host. We're using vSphere, and after importing the ovf i'm unable to reduce the size of the VM since all the space is provisioned already.

I tried manually reducing the size of the disk by editing the .ovf and .vmdk files in a text editor but this causes the import to error out. (500 internal server error) I have many other sites that need RSAs with even less disk space available than the current one.

I don't think you can, but you can thin provision them.
