Troubleshooting AMP Connection Problems
I'm trying to put in place some ways for us to troubleshoot agents that aren't connecting. We recently upgraded the K1000 to 5.5 and when I look in C:\Program Files\Dell\KACE I do not see the amp.conf. Is it stored in a different location or hidden now?
All the recommendations for troubleshooting include checking log files and the amp.conf file, but I don't see them. Any help?

Use this article: http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/troubleshooting-agents-that-are-not-checking-in-inventory
Enable debug and force a check-in or restart the system. The logs may tell you what's going on.
If amp.conf is wrong, you can run this to reset it: c:\program files (x86)\dell\kace\amptools.exe host=yourk1hostname.com

I am using that article. I've also used the command to reset the amp.conf file, but as above the log files and conf file are nowhere to be found. - lmland 11 years ago

Do you have hidden files and folders shown? By default ProgramData is hidden. - cmccracken 11 years ago
It's now located here
C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE

I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise and I don't have a ProgramData folder. It's under C:\Program Files\Dell\KACE but there is no amp.conf or log files on two of my machines for sure. - lmland 11 years ago

I know this is too late... but you need to show hidden files and folders in windows explorer and then go into programdata. - advkace 10 years ago
