Unable to remove old KBEs

I have recently uploaded two new KBEs, one for each architecture. When I now PXE boot a client, all four KBEs are visible and bootable. The two original KBE is still tagged as "Windows Deployment and Recovery" in the menu on the PXE client, and my two new KBE is below "Other K2000 boot images".

However, I am unable to remove the old KBEs. I've tried from Library -> Source Media and also from Deployments -> Boot Enviroments. I get the prompt "Are you sure you want to delete the selected files" I click yes, and the screen reloads but the selected files are not deleted. I have also rebooting the Kace.

Any ideas?

You probably can't delete them because they are still set as the default KBEs.  Change your defaults to the new ones, then you'll be able to delete them.

Comments:
  • agree follow this order to delete
    1. change them from the default
    2. delete them under Deployments-boot env
    3. delete them from the library - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago

If u want to delete KBE u have to remove it first from the General Settings under the "default KBE boot environments" so it can be unlinked from the library and boot environments... then you can delete it from boot environment and media source...

Can you delete the KBEs over the Media Manager or the UNC-Path ?

Comments:
  • No, you can not delete them via MM or the UNC Path.
