Upload Larger Files for File Sync
I am trying to upload a 6.24GB zip file for "File Sync". I have tried to just attach the large file through the web interface but it just sits there.
Is there anyway to use the ClientDrop to upload this file and then attach it to the Sync task?

as you already guessed:
Upload the file to the clientdrop\-Folder.
Go to Inventory| Software and attach it to the software item you want to sync (or create a new one) and then create the File Sync. As soon as it is bigger than the filter size you get the option to attach it.

So, when I try to import from the ClientDrop I get a notice stating that it is not a recognized format. But I now have a new dropdown to select it. I think that I might have the process down now.
1. Upload large file to Samba share
2. Go to Settings -> Resources -> Import
3. Click "Choose Actions" -> "Import from Network Share"
4. Select the new file -> Click "Import"
Then wait.... checking Resource Status
When the "Status" value reads something other then "New Request"
5. Open the software entry or create one for this sync task
6. Select file from "Upload and Associate Client Drop File" drop down
7. Click "Save"
Once the software entry has the attached file
8. Go to Distribution -> File Synchronizations
9. Click "Choose Actions" -> "New" or open the task for this file
10. Click the dropdown by "File" -> select the software entry you just attached the large file too - DLCurtis 4 years ago-
you don't need to import a Ressource. A Ressource is a package for transferring something (like a managed install oder a helpdesk queue)
You need attach the file to the software item which shows you a new option if there is a file in the clientdrop which has a size bigger than the filter you can setup in Settings for Clientdrop filesize filter. - Nico_K 4 years ago-
So when I don't do the import part, I don't get the option to "Upload and Associate Client Drop File"
Now if you know of a way that I can without the import process. Let me know. I just have not found it as an option until I do the import process - DLCurtis 4 years ago -
After more testing, I have found that I was wrong about the import a resource requirement.
I have now been able to upload and find without having to run the import. - DLCurtis 4 years ago
