What is best practice for changing host name and web name on K1000 without creating issues with amp.conf file

So, this will be quite a few questions.

First some background:
We have K1000 and K2000 appliences i a domain with approx 155 clients, 5 locations and 5 DC's. The clients are both Win10 and Win7. Some clients have both agent from Dell and Quest installed. We are missing about 30 clients in the invventory.

Is there a recommended way to update the agent to Quest 8.x and remove the old Dell?

Is there a recommended way to update the webserver name without creating an issue where the amp.conf file is not updated?

We have an issue where some of the clients have wrong entries in the amp.conf file. Is there a way to update the amp.conf file on all clients i.e. a GPO.

Thanks
Haakon

if you install an agent the old agent will be uninstalled.
If you run into a wrong amp.conf run (via GPO) the following:
c:\program files (x86)\quest\kace\amptools.exe -resetconf host=XXX (where XXX is the right hostname)

Since the location has been changed with 8.0 the old clients keep the agent files from the 7.x (for compatibility, since many customers use the agent location as working directory but use the fixed path and not the variables)
