Where are my downloaded files?
When I dowloaded a file or saved a website on my HD (with Secure Browser), I used to find it in my documents or download folder. After I updated Firefox to version 3.6.16, I cannot more find the files. When I use the "save page as..." it opens a window where on the left side I see a list of folders. I choose the folder documents, but it is not saved on my folder documents. Same when I download a file, I don't know where it is saving it. Also I not found any place where I can configure where to download the file. Any suggestion?

EMN123,
I am going to test out a few things and see what you might be experiencing.
By default, if you do not specify or change the default download directory, it should save them into your Downloads folder, which in Windows 7 would be C:\Users\%user%\Downloads. In Windows XP it would be C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\My Documents\Downloads.
Since you are downloading something and not able to find it, that leads me to belive it would be in in the Kontained Firefox directories.
They are located at C:\Program Files\Dell\Secure Browsers\Secure Browser (Firefox 3)\FireFox\Files\C
Anything after the C is like you exploring your local C:\, but within the Kontainer.
We are working on a new feature that would enable you to change which directories are local, and which would be part of the Kontained Firefox, though this will not be in the next version we will be releasing very soon. This will most likely make it into the one after.

I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits. Sure enough, using the search on drive C, I found a bunch of folders at
C:\Program Files\Dell\Secure Browsers\Secure Browser (Firefox 3)\FireFox\Files\C
containing the following folders (with sub-folders) : $RECYCLE.BIN; Documents and Settings; Drivers; Program Files; Program Files (x86); ProgramData; Users and WINDOWS
But I also found the folder
C:\Program Files\Dell\Secure Browsers\Secure Browser (Firefox 3)\FireFox\Files\D
with the folder (and subfolders) of $RECYCLE.BIN and EMAILS
also folder
C:\Program Files\Dell\Secure Browsers\Secure Browser (Firefox 3)\FireFox\Files\F
wich is my DVD drive.
I hope this information helps to solve the problem. I know it was working in the version before, so it must be a bug, consequence of any changes made in the software. I know how this happens, I am a retired software developer, you make an improvement here, and it messes there... :-)

A couple of questions for you all who are having problems finding files you are downloading.
1) What operating system are you using?
2) What directory are you choosing to download these files to?
Our Secure Browser kontains most of the files within it's directory structure. So if you choose to save to the Desktop, it would save within the kontained Secure Browser, not to your true Desktop. You would then follow the paths from my post above (Post #2) to find your files.
We have designed the Secure Browser to have just the directories above be outside the kontained Secure Browser, as that is the default location to save files of the specific Operating Systems.

Hi. I use Windows 7 ultimate and I configured to download to my "downloads" folder. I also have problems to find the files I save using the File/save page as... - I cannot find the saved page. Same when I save a pdf file that is loaded on the browser.
I also cannot print with Secure Browser, so when I want to print a page, I need to copy the link to IE9 and print it from there. I hope this problem is solved soon. :-)

If you save to your default download folder it should appear there as expected (this is handled specially and allows files to fall outside the virtual space). Otherwise (by design) all files are redirected within the virtual space for security. If you'd like to navigate to find one:
They are located at C:\Program Files\Dell\Secure Browsers\Secure Browser (Firefox 3)\FireFox\Files\C
(Anything after the C is like you exploring your local C:\, but within the virtual space)
The short answer really, is that with the Secure Browser you should use the default download folder and not Save As. To protect your system any files or changes are being contained within the Secure Browser virtual space and the results of using "Save As" are included here as the solution does not try to interpret your actions and decide if they are malicious or not-- it simply contains "everything". The exception is the default download folder to handle the need to download files normally.

I configured to save files in my "donwload" folder. It is working now for files I download, also when I use the file/save page as... - but when I have a pdf file to save, it still goes to that complicated-to-find folder inside the secure browser. Is it not possible to also have the pdf files going to my "download" folder, easy to reach?
I still cannot print with secure browser, it is giving me the error "An unknown error occured while printing" for both, sending to my printer and also sending to my pdf driver.
