Anyone create a preinstall task to stop the /kbox/bin/KBRemoteService.exe?

Anyone using a preinstall task to stop the /kbox/bin/KBRemoteService.exe?  We keep getting the "NT_STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION" error when scanning user states on XP machines.
