Application distribuition?

We are looking at using SMS to deploy applications and have built a test lab. What I have discovered is that it takes in excess of 5 minutes before an application starts installing.

Can this be changed so the application installs when the user logs in as we have end users who log into the system to get their updates and then they may not comeback into the office for 6 months

Yes. In your advertisement schedule tab, select new mandartory assignment, assign immediately after this event> Logon.

Once the client sees the advertisement, they'll launch the install immediately after they log in. Depends on your startup processes, but here we see installs kick off within 20 seconds of the completing the login.

If the machines are off the network for an extended period though, I'm not sure how quickly they will go out and check for advertisements.

If your machines are off the network for an extended period of time, do they remotely connect in via a VPN? If so, you can set sms to download the updates to them when they are on line and they will run once the whole package has gotten to them.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
