Create a label for certain software and only include certain computers by name.
I want to create a smart label for display name contains Microsoft sql server 2008 r2 and I want to only include certain computers by name. I created a device label that contains the computers I want. So I thought I could make the smart label with display name and add label names = to the device label that I created but it doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure I follow, would the "Label Names"=xxxxxx be the name of the license asset? - nadecats 9 years ago

You can do it and you are on the right track. I have found that I have to create such a Smart Label from "Devices" and use "Software Titles" = Microsoft sql server 2008 r2 then "Label Names" =xxxxxx

1. Software label name = CCI xyzsoftware
process is create software smart label where display name = xyzsoftware
2. Software Asset name = xyzsoftware SW Asset
process is add new software asset where software label = CCI xyzsoftware
3. License Asset name = xyzsoftware
process is add new license asset where applies to software = xyzsoftware SW Asset
There are many installs of xyzsoftware total of 29, my license asset has a manual entry of License Count: 2
xyzsoftware has many types of licensing so I want only two computers to show up as what I might name as xyzsoftware Premium in a device label and not see an installed count of 29 when I look at licenses under assets.
4. Device label name = xyzsoftware Premium devices
process is create device smart label where software titles = CCI xyzsoftware
and label names = ?
and system name = computer1
or system name = computer2 - nadecats 9 years ago
