Custom BIOS capturing and flashing
Hello,
I work with several different models of Lenovo desktops and laptops. Because of federal security regulations, each time we touch a machine, we now have to manually configure the BIOS to adjust boot order sequences and apply supervisor/admin passwords.
We currently carry USB HDD's that we use to store our sysprep'd images and we've also added the most recent BIOS revisions for specific system types in ISO format. We can then boot to the drives using grub4dos and image/reflash the BIOS to default values.
What I'm looking for is a solution to help automate the process a little. Is there a way for us to capture the specific changes we make per model and restore them back from our HDD's? I've heard Dell has a utility for their PC's but I can't find any official tools through Lenovo.
We don't have the access or the infrastructure to set up a server based solution so that's a little out of the question though.
Ideally this solution would need to be open-source (or at least free [;)])as well.
Any help you can provide will be appreciated!
