since you are using the driver feed workaround, you can go into drivers_postinstall\os_choice_xXX\custom\dell\740
put your drivers in that directory. Remember, drivers are not setup files, but .sys, .inf, .cat, .din, .dll, etc.

Thanks for the help Corey. I have another question concerning mid/post driver donwload/install scripts.

So far I have been able to deploy scripted installations to the optiplex GX620 740 and 745 without issue. The dell tech center has a cab that I moved into place as suggested, creating 3 separate directories. However, they all use the same driver cab. So basically I have 3 copies on disk.

Now I am looking at the laptops (we have about 4 or 5 models) and it looks like they all use the same cab.

Is there anyway to provide the drivers to the script, but without the need to create the separate directories? Is there a directory the script would default to if it couldn't find one by its model?

does the files in postinstall have to be in any folder naming convention? for example you said use:
drivers_postinstall\os_choice_xXX\custom\dell\740
what if use
drivers_postinstall\os_choice_xXX\custom\dell precistion t3500/audio/

Please use the model_report.exe in the first post and run on the t3500, this will give you the correct path, however if I'm not mistaken it is t3500.

So the folder path does matter! is there a way to find the model name without using this model_report? thanks this is very helpful!

I can tell you that your model is the t3500, in these tasks, we are stripping out the word portion of the model, like optiplex, dimension, precision, latitude, etc.
