Driver Feed not working correctly

I am unable to get the video driver installed correctly using the driver feed for two laptop models:  Latitude E5450 and Latitude E5540.  All other drivers seem to install correctly.  Once the image is complete the display adapter in the device manager shows VIDEO CONTROLLER (VGA COMPATIBLE).

Driver injection works fine for the following:
Latitude E5270
Latitude E5470
Latitude E5570
Latitude E6440
Latitude E6520
Latitude E6540

Windows 7 x64
KACE Product:  K2000   Version 3.7.120251

The image I'm working with didn't originally use driver injection.  I think it was manually updated with drivers.

  • If the Image you are using is persisting drivers then you should re-sysprep the image and remove that from your answer file.

However, for the Display driver concern, You can download the Driver .cab files for these machines, Unzip them, and manually place them in the proper directories under:
    \\K2000\drivers_postinstall\dell\windows_7_x64\

Then make sure to ReCache the Windows 7 x64 drivers and Re-Sync your sites (If needed). - Desktop Jockey 7 years ago

Thanks for the reply.  If I were to post the unattend file would you be able to tell if there a persisting driver piece that needs removal from the file?  I'm still learning how to created the unattend file and I'm using a previously created one.

Comments:
  • You would change <PersistAllDeviceInstalls>true</PersistAllDeviceInstalls> to false - Desktop Jockey 7 years ago
    • There isn't an entry for <PersistAllDeviceInstall>true</PersistAllDeviceInstalls> Does this mean it holds a default of either to persist or not to persist? - bwalters 7 years ago
