Error message when creating boot shell with K2000 and MAC OSX Sierra

I receive the following error message when building the Netboot image with the K2000 Media Manager on a Macbook Pro 13 inch 2016 with MAC OSX Sierra.

make_netboot.sh only supports Mac OS X 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, and 10.10 volumes for imaging
Another possible error is the selection of an invalid volume for image creation.

Any ideas on what I have to do. The k2000 is version 4.0, and I have downloaded the install MAC OSX Sierra to my desktop

  • I just came across this issue myself this morning and am hoping for resolution on this as well.

FWIW, I have opened a ticket with Quest on this issue.

    (Update 3//17)

There was a beta which I was too late to get into. Quest is intending to have an update out by the end of March to resolve this issue. - rskwire 7 years ago
  • From Quest:

Thank you for contacting Dell KACE Support, I will be your primary point of contact for this ticket.

The new Mac systems are only able to run the 10.12 OS X and the KACE Deployment Appliance is scheduled to be updated with 4.0 SP1 which will include the support for the Sierra 10.12 OSX version. Since there are already new systems which are only able to be booted with a 10.12 OS, the Beta team may share the new Media Manager in order for the 10.12 netboot needed for the current systems. There is only a limited number of Beta test selections so there is no guarantee to be added as a Beta Tester. Full support is planned in our upcoming 4.1 release planned for early 2017 release.
