Factory Restore, does anyone know of how to do a restore with out a software CD for a Dell INspirion 1545. I have damaged the System(Windows 7) and about 30 min of running the computer it frezzes. I did a check on the system and it had 12 critical errors . Files that where missing, relating to the O

You should have an option to create a restore disc when the system comes out of the box. That probably won't help you here.
If the system still has a warranty, Dell support should be able to send you a disc. I think, but not certain, that you can also order one if needed.
Otherwise, if the system still has the restore partion, you may be able to backup your data and reimage the system.
Failing that, any Windows 7 disc (either Dell or Microsoft branded) that matches your version should be able to be used to run a repair.

I had a similar issue when I got two Dell laptops in the mail. I was working on one, went to lunch, and came back and tried using the admin password from the first computer and locked the admin out before assigning rights to other users.
I just did a K image from the existing laptop. Took about an hour, but it worked.
