How to get KACE 1000 Service Desk to receive Office 365 email...

I'm trying to set up a new KACE 1000 service desk. We are using Office 365/Exchange for our email. There is no on premise Exchange, but our O365 does sync with our on premise AD.

I cannot get the Service Desk email to work at all. I have followed the instructions found on the Dell website exactly. Is it even possible for KACE to retrieve email from O365 using POP settings this way? The Kace box auto fills the domain portion of the email address so that it ends up as Support@<kaceboxhostname.internaldomain.mycompany.com>, which is not an address I can create in O365, since it is not an valid domain.

Other than creating an domain to match the Kace's host name, is there a way to get POP to actually work for this?

  • To add to this, I used the settings recommended by the above linked document to set this account up in an email client. It is able to send and receive email using those POP/SMTP settings. The Kace box, however, does neither with those settings. I would rather this worked than the complication of using relay settings. Has anyone had any success with this? - MichaelMc 10 years ago
