Inventory Device Query
I am looking to create a SQL query that will identify the status of all devices in KACE.

So Duncan, define “Status”?
There is a status field in every device asset but that is set manually ( or by ticket rule), so for example, if you say Status as active is used when a device has checked in within the last 7 days, you can build your report to show you devices that have a check date of within the last 7 days.
If you are using ticket rules you could then get the report SQL to drive the rule and set the status to active on a schedule.
Reversely, you could then create the SQL to mark any device with a check in date older than 7 days as “missing” using a copy of the original ticket rule.
Is that the kind of stuff you had in mind?

It is based on the Asset Management Tab. I would like to identify devices that are assigned. - duncant-wssu 4 years ago

So Duncan, again everything in the Asset Management section requires either a manual update to keep the data in line or some smart ticket rules to help with the basics. I am happy to setup a webex to discuss if that would help you understand what is possible, just contact me via my email address in my profile #wearequest - Hobbsy 4 years ago

Do you mean you want a smart label that is applied to all devices that are assigned to a user? Or do you want a smart label that is applied to all devices that are not assigned to a user? - chucksteel 4 years ago

I think it's just the system. We have assets, but no status associated to some them. I thought that all assigned assets were stored in the MACHINE table. I'm digging to hopefully to find more answers. Thanks for your help - duncant-wssu 4 years ago

Assets are stored in the ASSET table (at least the basic information is stored there, other fields are in their own ASSET_DATA_x table, where x is the ID of the asset type.
The asset status is a field that you need to set manually and these can be customized to your needs.
The MACHINE table holds the devices that are in the inventory and each machine should have an asset associated with it. When you delete a computer from the Inventory, that does not delete the associated asset, so you might have assets that were assigned to a user but no longer have a matching device in the inventory. This makes sense because not everything in the asset database has an entry in the machine table (think of printers, monitors, cell phones, anything you can track as an asset). - chucksteel 4 years ago
