K1000 Service Desk tickets - Autopopulate Asset from Device
We are trying to use the k1000 for Asset management and would like the Service Desk tickets to be available in both the Device (Inventory Name) and the Asset name. The purpose of this is so that when the Device is removed from Inventory we can still see the tickets that were associated with the machine by looking at the Asset information.
Can someone help with a Custom Ticket Rule that would autopopulate the Asset name when the Device name is selected?
This article shows how to populate the Asset name based on the user.

Unfortunatly I don't even have enough experience with SQL to adapt that code to map the Asset name to the Device name.
There is also this article that seems to do the same thing as the one I just referenced.

but it contains so much more coding that I'm not really sure if they are doing the same thing.
Any help that you can provide would be appreciated.
Thanks.
