Request for clarification on a few K2000 7.0 features
Can someone please help elaborate upon a few items in the K2000 7.0 release notes as it's not immediately clear to me what they are related to.
- KBE load registry now finds the config file automatically.
- Added a flag to USMT scan templates.
Thanks!

On the Recovery page of a KBE, there is an option to edit the registry. In the past, you had to browse to the location of the file, which is typically c:\windows\system32\config. In 7.0, when you choose to Edit the Registry, all drives are searched for this location, excluding x, t and y. If only one drive has that location the registry of that drive is loaded automatically. If more than one drive has the location, then you will need to browse for the location.
-Added a flag to USMT scan templates.
This one is a little misleading, there was an option to optimize the scanstate for Windows 7. There is also an option to optimize for Windows 8 now in 7.0. The text was reworded to:
"Optimize a Scanstate.exe when using USMT 10.0 to migrate a user state to an older version of Windows instead of Windows 10"
When you select this option, you can then choose to optimize for Windows 7 or 8.
Something else to note on the new Media Manager, it stores a log in %temp%
