Slipstream Updates for Scripted Installs
Hi, I know that there are a number of articles on here already regarding this, but I am asking for an update to what everyone is doing these days as I am somewhat in a hurry to get this going.
Environment: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64
Media Type: Retail/OEM shipped with Dell (We cannot use volume licensing)
We use RT7 Lite for slipstreaming media, but we are finding that certain updates are crashing the scripted install due to not working well with KACE. This makes us have to search the internet or test which ones work/don't work - very time consuming.
Ideally we'd like to package these updates in the media and not use WSUS Offline in the mid-level tasks due to the amount of time per computer it would take for us to complete a scripted install.
Does anyone know of additional options to get this done? We have a lot of setups on back log due to this.

We use images vs scripted installs for this reason. With an image I can do monthly updates and upload a revised one to the k2000 - SMal.tmcc 10 years ago

I can't do images due to licensing limitations. No volume licenses can be used, all retail. Due to the environment we are in, the software has to be transferable if we lose the support contract. - mprice 10 years ago

What about scripts with error catching?
If error then > error.file

At least you get the rest installed.
