The KACE Systems Deployment Appliance UFD Boot Environment Builder keeps formatting my entire USB (128 GB) instead of just the partitioned portion.

I'm trying to kick off images using a USB stick, but I need the stick formatted in FAT32. So I partition a portion that's only 32 GB, but every time I use the  KACE Systems Deployment Appliance UFD Boot Environment Builder it formats the entire drive into FAT32 which of course fails.

So I wanted to know if there was a way to format just that small portion or if I need a smaller USB drive.

My biggest boot stick is 32 gig and the utility formatted it as exFAT.  My SDA is 6.1

  • Gotcha, so you're saying to stick with a smaller USB drive? - Pete49 5 years ago
    • Yes. You could try formatting the 128 as exFat first and see if it holds it when you use the kbe install program - SMal.tmcc 5 years ago
