Where does the export go? K2000
When you export a kimage from the k2000 where does it get exported to? How do I get it?
Is it a WIM? or some other format.
Thanks!

It will be exported as a .pkg file with an associated .xml file. What are you trying to accomplish by exporting it?

I am trying to create a bootable USB to image with, without access to the k2000. And I can't seem to find a wim for it so i thought maybe exporting would be an option. - rsm11 11 years ago
Download the boot env boot stick image you want.
save this to your desktop, unzip and go to .\files\sources in the directory the unzip created. Copy the boot.wim file to your desktop.
Go to your waik folder and find imagex.exe for the OS version the WS is. Copy that to the desktop also.
make a new folder on the desktop named temp.
open a command windows and type:
open the temp folder and navigate to temp\windows\system32 and edit startnet.cmd
add: exit cmd and save the file.
close flie explorer and notepad.
reseal the boot.wim file with the change by entering the following:
copy that boot.wim back to
run the install.exe and create a new boot stick and it will not link to the kbox. You can also add others commands prior to the exit cmd if you want.
To create a bootable USB with an image, you must first create a bootable usb kbe by going to the kbe with the same architecture as your image and select to create one there (Deployments | Boot Environments). Then go to your image detail page and create a usb version of your image.
Follow the instructions for each process to create your key.

I did create the KBE and follow the instructions on the k2000 but it didn't work. I've worked with KACE support and haven't had any luck. Thanks for the suggestion though. - rsm11 11 years ago

Please detail the error you are getting. After creating a usb kbe and then installing the image to it, there is no connection made to the k2000. - cserrins 11 years ago
