Add kace server name to msi

Hi,

I've got the kace  5.3 agent msi and I've added the server name to the end of the msi. However, if a tech downloads it and runs it in IE, it adds a [0] or [1] to the end of the msi name. Is there a way to program the server name in the msi, itself?

They used to allow a command line switch, but they changed it to renaming the MSI.  I am not a fan at all.  You could ask support, but my expectation is they removed the functionality when they changed over to using the filename.

  • I use the following command line to push out the agent which works for 5.3:

We used iexpress.exe (built into Win 7) to create an exe for it.

You can simple add at the end of the file name "_KBOXHOSTNAME"

Like the

ampagent-5.3.53177-x86_KBOX1000.msi

Now the setup do not ask the kbox durimg the installation process and the client register itself in the KBOX1000
