Agent update using GPO
Hey guys,
If we use a GPO to push the agents, will that uninstall the old version on machines that already have the agent install?

Negative, the GPO tool will only install the agents one time (or reinstall them if they were removed).
To update agents, only the KACE SMA is officially available.
Now you could use a manual self-created GPO policy to achieve that, but I would not recommend it, better let the KACE update it's agents on it's own.

Thanks for the response Channeler.
Our appliance is 7.1.150 with agent 7.1.62.
We want to upgrade our appliance to 8.1.108. Will the appliance be able to upgrade the agents to 8.x even though the minimum agent is 7.2.10?

it was never tested but yes, it will do.
Agents <7.0 cannot checkin into a 8.x appliance and with 8.0 the agent location has been changed (to c:\programdata\quest\kace etc) a GPO for initial installation need to be reviewed and reworked and also all whitelists etc need to be reviewed - Nico_K 6 years ago-
Is there any way I can test this before I submit my RFC to our CAB? - egas 6 years ago
