Can Kace 2000 allow a PXE boot into an antivirus Rescue disk ??
Ok.... the network security guys are asking me if there's a way
to have Kace k2 allow a PXE boot into an antivirus Rescue disk (e.g Kaspersky).
In a sense having a second PXE boot option over the network for virus scans and installations....I guess.
Has anyone ever heard of this or know what they're on about?
Integrating K2 with an antivirus rescue disk????
Thank People.

if the disk uses a modified pe wim to boot that you can use that to create custom boot env.
You may also be able to upload the executables for the AV program to a normal kbe and use that during the load process or from the command line after it fully boots
To try to run the exe's
build a KBE boot and add the AV files using the advanced options-add files to kbe and upload a directory with the AV program and all support files to it
under DOS commands add the line to run the AV program automatically
Note the path used to call the exe, you will need the path and substitute your program for the exe I call

Hey SMal... Still a bit confused. Have a look at this article below from kaspersky. Can you relate this to the k2.
Kaspersky Rescue Disk can be launched via a PXE network (Preboot Execution Environment). In this case, you do not need local data storage: hard drives or USB drives.
To launch Kaspersky Rescue Disk via network:
Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk image.
Create the /pxeboot/krd folder on a server and extract the downloaded krd.iso image into this folder.

If they have a media\ISO compatible with iPXE , it should work fine
Upload the ISO with a KBE carcass - Channeler 5 years ago
I am not quite sure what you mean?
