Group Policy not applying!

Having another GPO problem. This time i have an account that the GPO is not being applied to. I have an OU called Restricted Users that has a GPO applied to it. This GPO is really tied down and only gives the user access to our Intranet. I have created a second user to go into this group. However, the GPO does not seem to be applying to this particular user. Can't think what could be the problem. All the User account settings are the same. The profile path is the same. The account is placed in the correct OU. Out of ideas....any suggestions?

Look in the eventViewer for any error messages on that particular client computer

is it trying to apply the GPO.

in GPMC it is possible to make a Group policy resultset with the Group Policy Result wizard.

Some times you could have an issue that prevents GPO's from applying at all.

Hi Sweede, thanks for responding.

Looked in the event viewer and i seem to get two errors that relate to the GPO not applying.

Event Type: Error; EventID: 111; Source: Folder Redirection

Event Type: Error; EventID: 1085: Source Userenv

I guess this is something to do with security permissions on the OU, but have had no luck in figuring it out yet.

Strange thing is i have three users inthe particular OUI that the GPO is applied to. The very first user i created under this OU still manages to obtain all the GPO settings, yet the other two don't. Don't figure

Try this link:

[link]http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/windows2000serv/technologies/activedirectory/maintain/opsguide/part1/adogd07.mspx[/link]

When the error message is found like you have done, search the web

All sorted. Turns out that the policy was applying but there was a problem with the profile itself. Amended the users profile. Copied it across to the server. Changed it to a roaming mandatory profile and voila - success. The thing that was confusing me was that the GPMC wizard kept stating the the restricted GPO that i had created and applied, wasn't being applied even though it was. Don't figure!
