How can you tell what K2000 image was used on a workstation?

Is there a way to tell what image was used on a work station? In other words is that information somewhere on the imaged machine?

Thanks -

The k2000_deployment_info.conf file contains this information.  Its stored in %allusersprofile%\Dell\KACE

There are several lines to this file, you are looking for "deployment_name"

You can set a custom inventory rule on the K1 to read the file.

  • I poked around a little based on your response and found this - its not quite your path - C:\ProgramData\Dell\KACE\k2000_deployment_info.conf - I am double checking this with a few of the deployments to see if the info in the file "name" is different or just something generic - - rmletc 11 years ago
    • For Vista/7/8 c:\ProgramData is the same as %allusersprofile%

      • This so awesome and yes, you are correct.Thank you. The system admin tells me to go into Kace -> inventory for that computer and look at the date and time it was deployed but it gives no additional info. Thanks so much. - rmletc 9 years ago
