Managed Installations, Installation Options: resetting to default instead of Override default installation Full Command Line

I feel like maybe I am going crazy but this is happening far to often for me to not ask.
On several Managed Installations I have created, they stop working. When I investigate why, because I am sure I had them working before, I can see that the Installation Options has gone to "default" instead of the Override default installations where I had a full commandline that is needed put in. What's weirder is if I select the override, my previous command is in there still fully saved. So I select it and hit save, and it seems to. Go back in saved. Go back in and bam, back to default.

Is there some mechanism at work here or is someone else with access playing a cruel joke on me?

I thought maybe there is a character limit for the full command line option that I may be butting up against. But maybe its a bug? Maybe I am triggering it to revert unknowingly somehow that I can prevent if I knew?
If anyone has any similar experience or help to offer, please!

For reference a command line that I had this issue with:
msiexec.exe /i Command_Configure.msi /qn ADDDESKTOPICON=0

Known issue, will be addressed in a future release.

  • Ah, if known issue, I feel less crazy. I searched and could not find it referenced anywhere. I am on the latest 11.0.273 release. I will look forward to the fix soon hopefully.

Thanks for the help. - Michelle.ashby 3 years ago

Question,
If you go to one of those... Is the Modified Date and Time changing as well?

If you click Show All History, Do you see any changes recorded there?

Are you the only admin?

Do you guys use Custom SQL Service Desk Rules?

Comments:
  • As far as the history, good call to check there.
I am not the only admin, and yes there are custom SQL service desk rules - strange that this part would be impacting the managed installs though, no?
    Thanks for your help.
I think if it's a known issue as stated by KevinG I will wait for the fix. - Michelle.ashby 3 years ago

Has this been fixed? I am having the same issue a year later.

Comments:
  • Hi mdances,
I do not appear to be having the issue any longer so I believe the aforementioned bug has been fixed in newer releases/updates. I am now on the most up-to-date version 12.0.149.

Are you up-to-date and still experiencing this? If not that would be my recommendation to start. - Michelle.ashby 2 years ago
    • Upgrading to 11.1 fixed the issue. Thanks - mdances 2 years ago
