Opening a K1000 database backup

I'm pretty new to databases and writing SQL so I was wanting to see if there was a way to import the database backup to my local machine that way I can play around with writing reports without logging into the backend.  I just don't want to damage our current database.

This Free Web Based Training should explain a lot about accessing the KBox DB with 3rd party tools.

On your Kbox, choose your org unit (if any); Settings -> Control Panel -> General Settings -> Update Reporting User Password.

This is the information you will need to edit in order to access your Kace DB.

This walks you through uploading the backup files via FTP. I do this to a Windows Server to backup the files daily.
